Fresh Ahi Poke and Avocado #Recipe
We recently picked up some sushi grade yellowfin tuna and I just had to try to create an ahi poke dish. This is one of two recipes I tried. Ahi poke is my favorite appetizer when we go out for sushi. We loved this and I'm probably making more this week.
6 ounces sashimi grade tuna steak, diced
1/4 to 1/2 cup diced cucumber, seeds removed
1 avocados - peeled, pitted and diced
2-3 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons lime juice
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
Combine the ahi, cucumber, avocado, green onion, red pepper flakes and sesame seeds. Pour in the lime juice, sesame oil and soy sauce, and stir carefully to blend so you don't mash the avocado. Chill until ready to serve.
